Les Coqs, Fine Dining Restaurant in Milly-la-Forêt, Essonne

In the heart of one of the most beautiful villages in the Île-de-France region, Les Coqs celebrates French gastronomy, guided by the seasons and by local produce. Since 14 July 2017, this warm and welcoming place created by chef Émilien Le Normand and his wife Noémie has quickly established itself as one of the finest addresses in this beautiful region.

Les Coqs, the perfect address for everygourmet occasion

Ideally located in the south of the Île-de-France region (20 min from Fontainebleau, 1 hour from Paris…), in the heart of the old town of Milly-la-Forêt, Les Coqs is open from Thursday evening to Monday evening. It owes its name to the illustrious painter and poet Jean Cocteau, who loved to draw these birds with a mischievous stroke.

This fine dining address, whose menu is renewed every three weeks, lends itself to every gourmet occasion: business meals, festive celebrations, romantic dinners for two, moments shared with friends…

It welcomes guests from all walks of life: business clientele, regulars of the traditional Sunday lunch, visitors from near and far in search of natural or historic discoveries, Parisians seeking a change of scene in a village where time seems to stand still…

An elegantand warm atmosphere

A glass roof softly lights the second dining room, intended for large tables of family or friends, while a terrace lets you make the most of the fine weather.

A spectacular table made in Accolay, a Burgundy village famous for its pottery, links the two dining rooms: crafted from crushed glass and resin inlaid with plants and butterflies, highlighted by carefully designed backlighting, it can seat four guests.

Upstairs, two small private rooms for four and eight guests are reserved for more intimate occasions.

Entirely designed by Émilien and Noémie, with the help of an interior designer, Les Coqs offers 36 covers in two dining rooms with an elegant and warm atmosphere, where the couple's aesthetic sensibility is fully expressed.

Fontainebleau sandstone and exposed beams recall the historic identity of the village, while contemporary touches come from the chairs, the tableware made by local craftspeople – Milly-la-Forêt ceramist Edwige Denax and Soisy-sur-École glassblower Frédéric Alary – and from original artworks adorning the walls.

Milly-la-Forêt, a strollthrough the centuries

In the heart of the Gâtinais Regional Natural Park, close to the Forest of Fontainebleau and to Barbizon, the painters' village, Milly-la-Forêt is a wonderful place to visit.

This charming village has preserved its historic character while embracing modernity : along its streets you will discover the 15th-century market hall and dovecote, Jean Cocteau's house and the Chapelle Saint-Blaise-des-Simples, decorated with murals and stained-glass windows by the artist, who is buried there, and Jean Tinguely's Cyclop…

Renowned for centuries for its aromatic plants and medicinal herbs, Milly is today their world capital thanks to a family of industrialists who have been growing and processing them since 1887: its Conservatoire National des Plantes offers a fascinating sensory experience and museum visit.
